Tuesday 10th December -

51 ladies enjoyed a splendid Christmas lunch today – well done to Kenny and his team – it was delicious – not easy cooking and serving so many meals at once. Thank you to Laura and her team for setting up the room and serving us so well. The room looked fabulous. Thanks to Elspeth for this great photo with everyone looking the right way.

The Xmas Cheer event took place on Saturday 7th December with a 9:30 shotgun start. Despite a rather wet morning, all who played thoroughly enjoyed themselves with laughter and cheers throughout the morning. Considering the conditions there were some very fine scores. The winning scores were:-

1st - Will Morrison, Susanna Schraag, Tracy McColgan, & Martine Morrison - net 54
2nd -  John Kerr (Milngavie), Stuart Bauld, Craig Steven , Mark Dyet – net 57.5
3rd - Hugh & Elaine Clark and Colin & Jo Cammidge – net 57.5

Thanks to the Green staff for setting out the course – it stood up extremely well considering the weather of the last week. Thank you also to Stuart and Cammy in the Proshop for organising the event and to all the players who took part and wore their Christmas jerseys. We had hoped to get one large group photo outside but the early drizzle put paid to that - there were some very fine costumes out on the course hiding under waterproofs. Thanks also to Kenny and the bar staff for coping with a very busy lunch period as 60 players probably ordered lunch at the same time. Well done to all.

Hilton Park Golf Club hosted a bridge afternoon on 30th October to raise money for the Charity Bobath which helps children suffering from Cerebral Palsy. 56 Ladies & Gents took part. An afternoon tea was served midway through the afternoon with a great selection of sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea and coffee. A splendid raffle was also held in aid of Bobath. This was supported by a number of local businesses at Bearsden Cross who generously donated prizes for the raffle. The grand total of £656 was raised on the day. Thank you to all who supported this very worthwhile cause.

Zoe Rodden has been awarded Most Improved Junior Girl 2019.
Zoe, 13 who attends Douglas Academy School, started playing at Hilton Park aged 8 and is shortly about to achieve her handicap. Zoe will be Girls Captain in 2020 and her success will inspire our other junior girls to keep practising and achieve their handicap. Well done Zoe !
